Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Perfectly Seated ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website and event-planning services (the "Service"). Please read it alongside our Terms and Conditions.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: When a Host creates an account, we collect their name and email address (and, if signing in with Google, basic profile information from your Google account).
- Event Data: Information about events a Host creates, including event names, dates, locations, and estimated attendee counts.
- Guest Information: Names, email addresses, gender (used only for optional gender-based seating sections), and any table/seat preferences Hosts or Guests provide.
- Seating Data: Table arrangements, seat assignments, and layout preferences for each event.
- Usage Data: Basic information about how you interact with the Service, collected to keep it reliable and secure.
We do not knowingly collect information from children. The Service is intended for users 18 and older, consistent with our Terms and Conditions.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Create and manage events, guest lists, and seating arrangements.
- Enable guest registration, seat selection, and RSVP functionality.
- Send transactional emails related to an event (e.g., invitations and seat confirmations).
- Respond to inquiries and provide customer support.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Between Hosts and Guests:A Host can see the information Guests provide for their event (e.g., name, seat selection). A Guest can see event details the Host has shared, and — depending on the event's settings — the names of other Guests seated at the same or nearby tables.
- Service Providers: We use a small number of third-party providers to operate the Service, each of whom processes data only on our behalf and under confidentiality/data-processing terms:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and file storage.
- Resend — delivery of transactional emails (invitations, seat confirmations).
- Google — optional "Sign in with Google" authentication, and Google Places for address autocomplete when a Host enters an event location.
- Vercel — application hosting and content delivery.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Perfectly Seated, our users, or others.
- Business Transfers: If Perfectly Seated is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure, industry-standard infrastructure (see Section 3), protected by access controls and encryption in transit. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain event and guest data for as long as a Host's account and events remain active, or as needed to provide the Service. A Host may delete an event and its associated guest/seating data at any time from within the app. If you wish to delete your account entirely, contact us using the details below.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your relationship to an event, you may:
- Access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information.
- Ask a Host to remove you from an event's guest list.
- Opt out of receiving further emails related to a specific event by contacting the Host or us directly.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note the "Last Updated" date above whenever changes are made. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
8. Limitation of Liability / Role of the Service
Perfectly Seated provides a platform that allows Hosts to organize events and enables Guests to view event details and select their own seating. Perfectly Seated is a technology service only — we do not organize, host, staff, or supervise any event, and we are not a party to the relationship between a Host and their Guests.
Accordingly, Perfectly Seated is not responsible for:
- The planning, execution, safety, or outcome of any event created using the Service.
- Any interactions, disputes, or incidents that occur between Guests, between Hosts and Guests, or at the physical event itself, including seating-related conflicts.
- The accuracy of event details, guest lists, or seating arrangements entered by a Host or Guest.
- Any decisions a Host makes regarding seating, invitations, or event logistics.
Hosts are solely responsible for the events they create, including who is invited, how seating is arranged, and any consequences arising from those decisions. By using the Service, Hosts and Guests agree that Perfectly Seated's role is limited to providing the seat-selection tool, and that we bear no liability for real-world outcomes at any event.
9. Payment Policy
When a Host makes a payment through the Service, it is processed securely by a third-party payment provider. We do not collect or store full card numbers, CVV codes, or other sensitive payment details — only limited billing information (such as name, email, and transaction history) needed for receipts and customer support.
